His loyalties are hard to gauge to say the least. Matthew at the moment, is very out of his depths in terms of the supernatural community and is just trying to coast on by with little knowledge or understanding of it.
Though he's had interactions with the Seelie in the past thanks to his romance with Lyra Lore, he wants to avoid them to the best of his abilities. He's more or less unwittingly allied with Redbright since that's where his daughter is going to go in the future thanks to her metahuman status. He'll continue his job as a pub owner and try his best to be a good dad, trying to avoid getting in trouble for Margaret's sake.

| Supplement history can be found HERE. You could only imagine his surprise when he discovered he was a dad in 2013. Almost an entire year after his amiable breakup with his girlfriend, Lyra Lore, he woke up to an annoying but insistent knocking on his door of his apartment door one evening. He didn't expect a lot of things when he went to open it. Maybe someone looking for help. Maybe someone asking for charities and hoping to catch him off guard at that unholy hour to get more money. He did not expect a small wicker basket containing a newborn on his doorstep. Taking the child in, he inspected the baby (girl) and her basket for any clues. All he found was a stunning miniature hourglass and a note written in a familiar hand. She's better off with you.And that is where babies come from if you happen to be Matthew Brown. He tried to find Lyra again and get some answers. To his frustration but not to his surprise, he was unable to find Lyra. Her apartment was empty, her neighbours claimed they had no clue where she went off to, and the bar she worked at claimed she never came to work after the day of his breakup with her. So he found himself raising Margaret, named after his grandmother, all alone. It was difficult and stressful and downright exhausting but he honestly would say he wouldn't trade a second of it thanks to the joy of hearing her first word and the excitement of having her smile up at him after a long night of trying to get her to stop crying. He almost got the hang of it too if not for a sudden curveball being thrown at his way recently. When working at his pub the Watering Hole a few weeks back, Margaret in his office being looked after by one of the waitresses, he found himself getting dragged into a fist fight that soon escalated into a knife figh. Matthew found himself getting jumped and he really thought that was it when the guy took a swipe at his neck-- Only the blade snapped in half upon making contact with his skin. He managed to regain his wits to knock the asshole out and have someone subdue the fight to something more manageable. He rushed to make sure Margaret when he could get away from everyone's attention and both he and the girl looking after her were kind of freaked out to see a soft golden glow surrounding her hands. After bribing the girl considerably to keep quiet about what she saw that night, Matthew began to realise that things may not be simple as they appear to be on the surface as he recalls strangers trailing after him, people being too curious about his little girl, and waking up in the middle of the night to see something just vanish outside his window. He doesn't think the baby books he read up before ever covered this. |

| With no magic or powers, being a human being through and though, he definitely cannot get into a fight with any random vampire and werewolf and hope to win. He does have some advantages over others. He's an excellent thief and pickpocket thanks to his hooligan years and is still nimble and quick with his fingers. He was a boxer before he retired from that and still has the skills to prove it, willing to strike hard and fast. He's not afraid to fight dirty either. Most importantly -- He's blessed by his daughter, Margaret, thanks to her metahuman abilities. Though still a baby, she has great potential thanks to her power being Invulnerability Bestowment. Meaning she can make someone invulnerable to harm if she blesses them and she did it for her father thanks to her love for him. There are limits to this due to her seelie heritage. For starts it means only things like iron or steel weapons trying to make physical contact with the person. So bullets are useless but a baseball bat or a nasty punch is still pretty effective on him. The powers also only kick in if something is actively trying to harm Matthew so things like poison can do major damage and mind control magic can still prove effective. |

Located in Hillingdon, Watering Hole is a popular little pub run by the Brown family since the 1950s. Taken care of by Matthew Brown, it continues to be an excellent place to hang out for friends and passerby. This is where you can get the Browns' infamous Irish Coffee.
Nicholas' Hourglass
high level ♦ personal, rare
A small and intricate hourglass commissioned by Lyra Lore and given to her child, Margaret, as a parting gift. Inside the hourglass are beads that hold the oil and properties of protective herbs such as clovers, rosemary, and rowan berries. It's to keep the fae, both seelie and unseelie, away from her.

A character sheet that I used to use in a roleplay group I used to be part of. To this day I find it pretty nifty since you can talk a lot about your character but in a way it doesn't feel like you're bogging yourself down in terms of details, complications and such while still delivering important information on them. DETAILS: INFORMATION ON THE DOE GANG
Members of the Doe Gang. The roster you see here are the members that were around when Matthew left and he hasn't been updated much of the state of the gang since then. Hover over the pictures to get a thought Matthew has about them to have a better idea of his feelings about them.
 ❝JOHN DOE❞ LEADER Founder of the criminal gang though rumor has it that the gang was under another name, another leader before John got itchy for power and took over and cleaned it up good. He's the mastermind of all the schemes and the last person you want to get in trouble with. He's a deadly man thanks to his combination of brains and willingness to use any means to get what he wants. Matthew was (and still is) a favorite of the man. That's the problem. |
 ❝ALBERT DOE❞ POINT MAN | INFORMATION Close to John Doe, but not compared to Alice Doe, he is one of the first people to join the gang and is possibly the oldest member in terms of his years in it. The fact he's alive this long is saying something about his talents as a point and his skills in gathering the needed data for a heist. Matthew admired the man since he looked after Addie when she was young and was upset he had to be there to watch him die. |
 ❝ALICE DOE❞ SECOND-IN-COMMAND The one closest to John Doe, with Matthew and Albert being competition at times, Alice holds a lot of power over the group. Not that isn't unearned, with her skills in planning and thieving and espionage unmatched by others, but she's quite willing to use it to get her way since she believes her way is the right one when John Doe doesn't have an opinion on this. Matthew did not get along with her and she was quite pleased by his death. |
 ❝ABIGAIL DOE❞ POINT WOMAN | CHEMICALS The third longest member in the group besides Alice and Albert, Abigail earned her keep and spot in the gang with her skills in chemistry and biology. From untraceable poisons to paralysis drugs to formulas people thought couldn't be made, she's the one the team looked to should they need a little extra help. She often stayed clear of most of the drama concerning John Doe and Matthew but was fond of Addie and for that Matthew liked her. |
 ❝JACOB DOE❞ MEDIC Jacob is the medic of the group who took care of burns, cuts, gashes and all those neat little things that happen now and then. A close friend of Matthew thanks to the often interaction, Jacob warmed up to him a bit and, as a result, to Addie too. The grudging affection went as far as offered lessons of first-aid. Matthew wishes he took those seriously but is comforted with the knowledge someone like Jacob is tending to Addie. |
 ❝JOSEPHINE DOE❞ MUSCLES One who steps in to break some heads if it ever has to come down to that, 'Josie' is the better fighter between her and James since she's actually a trained fighter in her background. From a close family herself, she and Matthew got along well. She's one of the people he confided about his (actual) attraction to Andrea before he. Along with a few other secrets of his. He isn't afraid of betrayal from here because he knows that trust he gave her is earned. |
 ❝JAMES DOE❞ MUSCLES Not afraid to break some bones to get everything done, as that's his job and all, James makes up for his lack of finesse with force and intellect. He focuses on a more intense level of thought and ethics and only joined the gang thanks to his connection with Josephine and his need of somewhere to go to. Along the way he and Matthew became close friends, one of the few people he mourned his death when John Doe gleefully announced it to them. |
 ❝JADE DOE❞ HONEY TRAP A fellow coworker in their department of seducing and ruining, Jade was an amiable enough lady when not leaving a path of broken hearts and empty wallets. She keeps mostly out of the politics of the gang, leaving the bickering to the others and Matthew understands that. She was nice enough to teach him a few moves when he was assigned to her and Jacques' job and never seemed to hold a grudge against him. Over-all they got along pretty well. |
 ❝JACQUES DOE❞ HONEY TRAP A man of mystery is how Matthew would describe him. He had the charms, wit and arrogance that is believed all Frenchmen to have and the seduction skills to boot. There was a reason Matthew was specifically put under Jacques.He was intelligent and held out on his own, getting into verbal fights with John Doe and coming out relatively unscathed. He earned Matthew's respect and he hopes the man is doing well for himself. |
 ❝ANNA DOE❞ FORGERY One of the people who made the fake identities, I.Ds, backgrounds and all other sorts for the group when they had to pull up a name, any name, Anna was essential to the gang. Though she was treated with some inferiority due to her young age compared to Andrew Doe. She and Matthew hit it off due to their age, her being only three years older than him, and had taken to embarrassing pet names to show their friendship. He hopes she's fine to this day. |
 ❝ANDREW DOE❞ FORGERY Another person who made the identities and the lies the gang needed for almost every job, Andrew was highly respected for his skill and how long he had been in the gang. To the point people ignored Anna's contributions to the table at times and Andrew himself was a bit snobbish to the younger girl. Matthew thought he was alright, uptight but better compared to Alex and Alice, but wished he treated Anna more nicely. |
 ❝ALEX DOE❞ RELATIONS One of the two people the potential clients had to go if they wanted to get help, Alex was good at his job thanks to his orderliness and one track mind and had a nice long list of connections and networks knows but that's all he's giving to the man. Matthew frankly finds Alex creepy and overbearing and leers at Adalinda at times. Matthew never bothered to be nice to Alex and vice versa which is perhaps for the best. |
 ❝JASMINE DOE❞ RELATIONS It's not just her drop dead looks that has Jasmine as one of the people potential clients have to go through. Ruthless, ambitious and dangerous when she thinks she's been wronged; Jasmine is not someone to be taken lightly and made Matthew learn that the hard way when he made a mistake with her somehow. Naturally he isn't her biggest fan. Her bullying of Addie when they were still new doesn't actually warm her to his heart either. |
 ❝ADALINDA | JILL DOE❞ ??? Matthew's reason for being in the gang in the first place, Adalinda was his strength and, oddly enough, voice for reason as he had to prove himself time and again when he was still considered new meat and just a temporary toy of John Doe. They were inseparable from each other when he wasn't doing work and he regrets leaving her behind and having to hurt her before he left but knows its better this way. He has no idea where she is besides a few whispers and prays prays prays she's safe and sound. |
